Amy Winehouse is to play the pyramid stage at this year's Glastonbury festival, organisers have confirmed. Emily Eavis announced today that the singer will be playing the main stage prior to Jay Z's headline performance on Saturday night, June 28.
Eavis told the Guardian: "Our wish list was always to have Amy and Jay-Z playing back to back, so we feel very honoured to have both artists, who are mutual fans,Doubt was cast over whether Winehouse would be available to fulfil her touring obligations this summer after she was arrested earlier this month on suspicion of drug offences. The singer, who will also perform at the Isle of Wight's Bestival in September, was questioned over footage that appeared to show her taking crack but was released with a caution. Her spokesman said at the time: "Amy is pleased to be able to move on. She particularly looks forward to seeing her fans again at eagerly-awaited festival performances this summer." bringing Saturday night's party to a close. We can't wait!"
