"Have you always wanted to play Glastonbury? Have
you ever looked at one of those acts up there on our stages, and
thought, “I can do that?” Do you think you’re up to it? Do you really?
Now’s your chance to prove it……
Through our Emerging Talent competition we aim to
find as many new acts as possible to play all over our Festival site,
and the four winners each get to play on one of our main stages: the
John Peel Stage, Acoustic Stage, JazzWorld Stage and in the Dance
Village. The big fat cherry on the musical cake is that our overall
winner gets to play the Other Stage, one of the two biggest stages at
the festival.
Many competition entrants CDs are also sent to
smaller stages around the site and in past years a number of
competition entrants have played the festival as well as the winners
you'll have read about on these pages.
We are also very pleased to be working more
closely with BBC Radio One this year and they have promised a recording
session at their Maida Vale studios for our Overall Winners in addition
to our live performance prizes.
Finally, we are hoping, for the first time, to be
able to take digital entries this year. We’re excited about this
because it is going to make our competition a lot greener and hopefully
make it easier for some of you to enter. But if you won’t be able to
submit your entry digitally for any reason, you can already send us a
CD demo instead. Click here for our entry form, with details of where to send your demo, and the terms and conditions you must read.
Good luck everyone, we can’t wait to hear your music!"
