BANDS looking to make it big at the Glastonbury Festival have until November 10 to enter Live and Unsigned 2011.
Avon and Somerset police have organised their third annual competition, seeking new musical talent from across the area, with the winner getting the chance to play at the world-famous festival next year. The Bristol-area auditions are held at the Fry Club in Keynsham on November 20, Trinity Centre in Old Market on November 21 and 28, and Weston College on November 27. Earlier this year, Knowle West acoustic duo Two in a Boat fought off seven other finalists at the Colston Hall to take the top spot and perform at the festival last summer.
Ollie Lewis and Nathan Searle went down a storm as they played the BBC Introducing Stage. Nathan, who studied at Brislington Enterprise College, said: "It was amazing to play here, hopefully we will get the chance to do it again."
The 2011 competition will be sponsored by Stage Electrics, John Lewis and The Colston Hall. The 12 bands and artists who make it through to the semi-finals will work on their material with the judges in a day-long workshop.
