I managed to get a ticket but i don't think any of my friends managed it, so i am facing the intimidating idea of going to my first Glastonbury alone.

I live in Newcastle under Lyme, Staffs which is in the West Midlands and near to Stoke on Trent. Is there anyone nearby who is in a similar position to me and would like to get together and make the whole thing a little less daunting?

I am 21 and a University student and will probably be travelling down by car on the Wednesday.

Look forward to any replies.

Does that me the free weekends supply of cider is in doubt???

HeHe
I love you all really.

And the best thing to do when you're going solo is either to 1) try to arrange a collective camp site with contacts online, or 2) when you arrive speak to everyone around where you camp. Make new friends, it's always fun. Everyone is usually pretty welcoming.

Or failing that try to 3) find through the local grapevine in your area, someone else that's in the same boat or a group of people going. Make friends before you go.

But whatever you do, make sure to follow number (2). It'll not just add to your enjoyment of the festival, but will also add to the security of yourself and your tent/possessions. Always best to introduce yourself, and at least make the effort with your neighbours. If they know what you look like they're more likely to challenge someone who doesn't look like you trying to get into your tent. Not that there's a problem with that sort of thing.
