Help!! We're driving this year (after a horrendous 13 hour journey on the coach last year). Does anyone know the best time to leave afterwards to avoid the queues. Also can you go back to your car for stuff during the festival?

We usually leave at 10:30pm on the Sunday - means missing the last act or so but we can often drive straight out, and we do have a 5 hour drive back to Manchester. Downside is it involves night driving after five days of camping and over indulgence - did you fall asleep on the return coach by any chance? Might be worth taking turns at the wheel.

Yes you can get 'pass outs' to go back to your car during the festival as many times as you like, but bear in mind (1) the round trip is likely to involve a walk of anything from 45 mins to an hour, and (2) although the security inside the perimeter fence is very good, I personally wouldn't hang around the car parks after dark. A lot of people take all their stuff into the festival in one go at the start of the festival and don't come out until the end.
