i remember in 2005 me and a few of my mates were walking by pyramid and there was a guy covered in mud head to toe and was trying to hug people , for a laff. practically stopped anyone from moving through this path for a good half hour was well funny.

but every day you see things that amaze you or stuff that is wierd beyond belief , but thats what makes glasto, glasto , roll on 08

one of my nicest memories of Glastonbury was I think when I was just about to watch Doves in early 2000 (cannot remember the dates, they blur into one!) and a lady standing in the crowd shook my hand and said "pass on the Glastonbury Spirit, have a lovely Glastonbury!". Before long everyone was shaking hands and talking to each other. It was a really friendly and positivie atmosphere

Everyone has those stories about the "good spirit" of Glastonbury lol

Last year it was more hostile than Leeds Festival, Glastonbury's a better festival though.

I've been about 12 times with a friend.

Advice: first the boring stuff. Take a tent, don't leave things in it that you can't afford to get stolen, wear shoes or boots you can walk all day in on rough fields, cover your head in the sun, take toilet roll.

Once the basics are covered, try out different stages - there are around 17 in all so don't just stick to the Pyramid headliners, take a look at the non-music side of the festival (circus field, etc - fairly magical by night), get drunk, talk to strangers, check out the Meeting Place Cafe in the Acoustic Field (we nickname it 'Beards and Pancakes' - it's run by some sort of religious sect) - it has chairs to sit on, a roof over your head, and does excellent food, check out the Guardian Lounge (going towardsthe New Bands or is it the John Peel Stage) - it's in a part of the campsite that floods when it rains, but a good place to chill.

Don't over-plan, and have fun
