It's looking ok for Wednesday & Thursday then it goes downhill a tad. 10mm of rain in a few hours on Friday morning will f**k the site up, but that's better than Friday when it looked like we'd have virtually constant rain Thursday & Friday. It was about this time last year when it looked likely that we'd get heavier rain than that, so as long as we don't get constant rain (showers are doable) after a downpour then we should be ok.
We're still a while away though and things do change quickly when it comes to British weather. 1999 had a similiar forecast but it turned out that the rain stayed away for four days giving the festival a fairly dry run. Let's hope this is the case this year as Glastonbury really needs a relatively dry festival.

A quick update. The forecast for this part of the world (gert South West innit) is grim tomorrow; rain & lots of it with gale conditions. Now it's been fairly dry the last few weeks down here & I've heard that the site is solid underfoot, which is great.
After tomorrow the forecast is for a dry weekend which is exactly what we never got last year. The weekend before Glastonbury last year was a horribly wet thing which meant that when it did chuck it down, the site went to sh*te quicker than it would have had it been dry.
Basically it doesn't look like it'll be a scorcher like 95 or 2003, but as it stands it doesn't look like it'll be as bad as the last two festivals. Of course the forecast is constantly changing so keep an eye on it.

I would if it said it was going to snow, which it has before. Well, it didn't quite snow but it did sleet in 97.
However the forecast is getting better & better as the days move on. There's no major rain forecast, though it's not especially looking warm. In fact it looks like perfect festival weather as the heat brings it's own problems

That's exactly what I was thinking, though I don't suppose I'd mind the heat so much if my tent was in the shade of those trees we were close to a few years ago... I doubt anyone will be early enough to get tent space down there.
I'll be packing my thermals anyway, cause even if it is (and sometimes particularly because) hot during the day it will be cold at night, especially if you're sitting about not moving very much.

Walking home from the pub tonight I was battered by strong winds & heavy rain. It felt like January, not June so it must be nearly Glastonbury.
The forecast is all over the place; it's still looking dryer than 07 or 05 but anything over 3mm of rain is rubbish & we have that forecast.
In short: wellies. A longer discussion as to how another wet festival could change the future of the festival is for another, more sober, day.
