I would advise strongly on placing a small note on it that indicates so, I have not done this myself but I work for a small local charity who had an offer from the organisers to go in and collect tents. These are the tents the other so called charity who were supposed to collect them and did not collect. (we know they took some though)
The reason I say some people do stay on and work, but take there goods with them when they are working, a tent which appeared dumped was not the case and the owner turned up very annoyed  much to our embarrassment so it is helpful to indicate if you dump your tent, just a note or something would be nice.
