Morning folks, after discovering this forum i've learnt a few things about glasto that have given me a more indepth idea of what the festival will be like.  I'm 17, a college student, and going with 6 mates, none of us have gone before!

A couple of quick questions:

1. The line up has been released, will there be times released eventually too, that say when a band is playing, so that you can at least see the ones you realllly want to see that weekend? Are the times usually accurate?

2. We are arriving thursday night with a 6/8 man tent, will we be able to get a decent spot or will it be only outskirts etc left? We'd love to get in the heart of the action.

3. Will we be allowed to take alcohol in, being under 18?

1) exact times aren't announced until you get the programme but stages generally start up around lunch and the main ones finish at 12.30ish.  you'll never completely avoid an horrendous clash but make sure 2 enjoy the 1 you pick 2 see.

2) you may struggle on thurs eve, it's better if you have friends that can 'space' their tents till you arrive so that a swift move around can squeeze you in but this isn't always possible cos they may wake up to find a strange tent in the middle of the 'site' (or even on the fire as we have experienced in the past)

easiest to answer here is 3.... no-one's gonna check your ID but you can't take glass bottles on site so make sure you get cans or plastic bottles (although you can usually get a voddy bot or 2 thru in your ruckie but then you have 2 make sure you are v. careful with glass onsite and take the empties home with you.
