I think they had sniffer dogs and car searchs on the road near Stone Henge in '05. I can't quite remember though. I don't think it was the same road we were on, if it's possible to be on a nearby road but not on the same one near stone henge. Or we were lucky and didn't get stopped.

same story every year, you would have to be VERY unlucky to be caught in this way anyway,
they did have them at the station in 05 but the dogs can only work for 20 mins at a time so unlikely to work really,
put in in a coffe jar, job done

It's funny, isn't it, how you always get someone posting about sniffer dogs at Glastonbury, but never seem to be able to remember where they heard it?...
All it takes to have a hassle free time is to exercise caution, common sense and a modicum of respect and you'll have no hassles. P.C. Plod actually caught me with a doobie in '05 and, because I put it out of sight and didn't act like a prat, he said "Fair Enough" under his breath as he walked past and gave me a wink. A pleasant surprise.
My Niece is a Sergeant in our local plod and she really can't be bothered "doing" someone for a bit of draw. Too much paperwork, too much hassle. Unless you make a scene and start running around trying to be Peter Tosh, you won't get too much hassle.
If there ARE sniffer dogs about, get your hands on some pepper and rub it into your trousers and shoes. The dog will go for an easier option and you'll be "spicy" all day..

Which is why you should carry a handgun in the glovebox, just in case like.
Or you could just dismiss it as the rumour that gets spouted every year. That said I have seen people pulled over on the way to the festival which is why I would recommend not putting your car sticker on the window or smoking in the car on the way down. Oh and if you have dreadlocks cut them off, you can glue them back on when you get inside the fence.
