There's talk Abba are to reunite for a one-off concert - sparking delirium among Abba fans and horror among Abba tribute bands.
It is more than 30 years since Super Trouper gave them their last No.1 hit and I find that staggering - that dirge actually made it to No.1. The snag is that we remember Abba as young, vibrant, and sexy. Well, the blonde was anyway (I think his name was Benny). But now they are all sexagenarians, which at their age is disgusting.
Agnetha Faltskog, always the barrier to an Abba reunion, said in an interview in Sweden that she would like the band to get together for a one-off gig and bookies responded by offering 66-1 for it to be this year's Royal wedding. Buckingham Palace released a statement saying they took such threats seriously.
Agnetha became a nearrecluse after being plagued by stalkers. Some of them were after her for her beauty, some were after her for her money, and the rest were after her for Mamma Mia: The Movie.
Stalkers get a bad name in the press but at least they're always there for you. It was only last year that ABBAWorld - an Abba theme park - opened in London.
Who'd have thought punters would be so happy to pay 40 quid to ride the Dancing Queen when there are so many nearby bars w here you can do it for free? Hills have slashed the odds of the super-group performing a one-off gig from 100-1 to 20-1 following Agnetha's comments.
They are 10-1 to have the No.1 album of 2011 and 33-1 to play at Glastonbury.
